Klein Cain High School -

🎨 Congratulations to our Klein Cain artists advancing to State in the V.A.S.E. competition! Last weekend Klein Cain students participated in the area 4 Visual Arts Scholastic Event (V.A.S.E.) with 1900 other students from the Houston area. Students worked for months on a variety of artworks from drawings to sculpture, turning their unique voice into a physical piece. Students engaged in critical thinking and developed real life skills in round 1 where they had to critique and explain their artwork's process, skill, material, and visual elements to a judge. Students who scored high enough on the evaluation moved onto round 2. The top 8-10% best artworks were chosen from the 2nd round, and 11 of those works chosen were from Klein Cain students!

🎓 Caps & Counselors Celebration Our PBIS team recently hosted Caps & Counselors, a special celebration highlighting the meaningful relationships between our counselors and seniors. During the event, counselors recognized one hardworking senior who has demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and growth throughout their high school journey. In return, those seniors had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the counselors who supported, guided, and encouraged them along the way. This event reflected one of our Core Values—Collaboration—and honored the powerful partnership between students and counselors that helps our Hurricanes succeed both in and out of the classroom. We were honored to welcome the United States Marine Corps Brass Quintet (stationed in New Orleans) to Cain while they were in Houston for the Rodeo! 🇺🇸🎶 Our band students had the incredible opportunity to hear a dynamic performance featuring a variety of musical selections, showcasing the talent and professionalism of Marine musicians. Beyond the music, the Marines shared valuable insight about opportunities to serve in the military as a musician and what life is like as a member of a Marine Band. Thank you to the Marine Corps Brass Quintet for inspiring our students and for your service to our country! 🎺👏

An incredible accomplishment on the national stage! ⸻ 🎶 Choir The Klein Cain Chamber Singers received a Performance of Distinction Award at the Texas Madrigal Festival. We are so proud of our outstanding vocalists! ⸻ 🍳 Culinary – SkillsUSA District Competition Seven culinary students competed with outstanding results: 🥈 Milena Mejías Morales – Silver, Baking & Pastry Arts 🥈 Culinary Quiz Bowl Team – Silver (Melina Mejia Morales, Mikayla White, Stanley Trevino, An Nguyen, Jonathan Lui, Joseph Jaimes) All students are advancing to the State Competition in Corpus Christi! ⸻ 🏅 Academic Decathlon Competed at the Collin College Frisco State Competition.
