Abishek Anand – Klein Cain Salutatorian

Klein Cain Salutatorian Abishek Anand is a Category 5 on the success scale! This well-rounded scholar leads by example and inspires those around him with his dedication and drive towards his studies. 

“Abi is an example of when you combine passion and discipline. Passion comes and goes, but discipline keeps you moving forward,” AP Psychology/Varsity Tennis Coach Dustin Goedde said. “I have seen Abi smile when facing adversity as only a man who knows that the challenge he faces is an opportunity to grow. With these attributes, Abi’s limits are only those that he sets for himself.”

Abishek is no stranger to UIL accolades and has garnered many, including being a Region Qualifier for Math, Science, Computer Science, and Spelling. He is also a National Merit Finalist.

Abishek shines on the tennis court as part of the Varsity Tennis team. He had the honor of winning the Regional Qualifiers, District Championship, and being named the SuperChamp.

At Klein Cain, Abishek is the Tennis Team Captain, Mu Alpha Theta President, and Computer Science Club Vice President. 

Abishek enjoys serving his school and community, keeps busy as an SAT Ambassador and English tutor, and participates in the National Honor Society and Key Club.

“I like the flexibility that Klein Cain gives its students to choose what they do in high school. Nothing stopped me from playing tennis, joining every club, and taking the seven hardest AP courses in the same year,” Anand said. “I’ve heard of other schools that set requirements and maximums for these things, but I’m glad I was not restricted. I challenged my limits and discovered what I’m truly capable of over the last four years. Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the amazing teachers, coaches, counselors, and administrators who fully support anything the students want to do.”

After graduation, Abishek plans to major in Computer Science and pursue a master’s degree.
